Thankful

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I thought I would just express my gratitude for the things in my life right now. I can't believe how lucky I am to be where/who/what I am. I'm thankful for all those people in my life. My best friend, Helena, is the highlight of my gratitude. I literally don't know what I would do without her. I'm so happy to have found such an awesome friend. Friend doesn't even cut it though. We are sisters. I know that we were supposed to meet. We were supposed to help each other through the rough parts of each others lives and laugh at how stupid we can be. I honestly wish that everyone could have a friend like I do. I wish everyone could know how wonderful it is to know that there is always someone there for you. Through thick and thin, through the laughing and through the crying. When there are hard goodbyes and awkward hello's. Friends Forever. Love you goose!

You, me and a Hello Kitty lunch Box

Taking a moment and realizing the situation that you are in is probably one of my favorite things to do. 2 Am McDonald's picnics on a blanket in the basement.

Beauty school

So i have friend who is just about to graduate beauty school. I haven't seen her in a while so i decided to go and have her color and cut my hair while we catch up...So I like my hair how it was but maybe a little change would be nice. So i Told her i just wanted a trim and maybe a little bit darker with some hints of red...hints... So three hours later.... I have red/purple hair and 2 1/2 inches missing from my head..... Yeah it's different and kinda cool... Maybe the 2000 hours of hair doesn't quite cut it....

Graduation

Graduating... It hasn't really seemed like a big deal. It probably won't feel like a big deal until I'm standing in a cap and gown and trip up the stairs to get my diploma. Graduating is kind of a bitter sweet. On the sweet side..well it's sweet! No more high school, no more stupid high school kids, I can do what I want considering school. On the other hand... I wish I would have been a little more involved and not in the end of the year stuff but just in general. I kind of just kept to myself and didn't make a ton of friends that hang out on the weekends and have big parties and stuff. I don't regret spending my time how I did. I had a ton of fun and love hanging out with the people that I do. I just kinda wish I would have been more outgoing, but isn't that what everyone says...I'm going to be more outgoing...well I am. SINGLES WARD! now i know it's cheesy and kind of lame but I'm not going to go to a singles ward where I know everyone or went to school with them. Definitely going to a ward in orem or Provo or something! Meet new people and just HAVE MORE FUN! I am a teenager and need to stop living like a crazy cat lady....Minus all the cats and add in one precious giant dog:) I am going to spend more time with friends and less with my dog.... Start smelling like perfume and less like dog shit.... Oops shouldn't say naughty words if I'm going to join the singles ward....

Week 2.

Oh dear.... this was not how I expected the end of week 2 would be. Stress is killer. I have been so busy and so stressed and I just haven't been working out or eating what I should. So week 2 ends in gaining 5 pounds. NOT GOOD. But I'm not gonna let this discourage me. I'm gonna let it make me more determined.

1 down 7 to go.

So last tuesday Brittney and I started the workout routine called "insanity" and it is just that. Completely insane! It is very strenuous but its average time is about 45 mins. It makes you sweat and want to throw up.... but we have done it everyday for a week!!! WAY TO GO US!! I swear I can already feel the results. During the beginning of the week I ate really healthy and worked out and went to bed early and I was doing awesome and feeling great.... but ( an awful word) toward the end of the week I got lazy with my diet... eating crap! so I started feeling like crap and I didn't want to exercise, but I still did. I am proud to say I made it a whole week! The program is an 8 week or 2 month work out routine. So on to week 2 I go... but this time with a better diet and plenty of water!

Shopping with the SIS.

Oh man tonight was so much fun. Brittney and I went shopping for a dress to wear to the valentines day dance and i seriously didn't stop laughing the entire time. We were in target and she was commenting on my hat, ( it was one of those sock looking things that hang off the edge of your head) and i said, " I'm hiding voldemort under there and i would have worn my turban but i would have been over dressed" but i couldn't even finish saying it with a straight face... it was hilarious!! Then we were in the dressing room and brittney kept on saying the "f" word ...( which is actually fat)... but it was just funny.then we were driving home and we pulled up to a stop light and the guy beside us was looking at me and brittney said that the guy is checking me out.. so i looked over and was like " ooohh no, no, no, he is not allowed to check me out, he is driving a yellow bug... man card revoked." brittney laughed forever about it. Then we went and dropped off some dinner that brittney made to my grandma and just had a really good night.. i needed that! THANKS BRITT

Healthy.

Making a resolution to become healthy. These come and go like days in the week. Sunday night you lay in bed and look down at the bowl of jelly sitting where your abs are supposed to be. So you make a resolution that starting Monday you will eat healthy and exercise. This resolution usually last me until thursday or friday. when all the friends are going out and getting a bite to eat or you just decide it's the weekend and you deserve to reward yourself for making it all the way through. Then the vicious cycle starts all over again. Well this is me saying I'm done starting over. I'm done making excuses. I'm done not being happy with the bowl full of jelly. I am gonna be a fitness makeover story. I am going to be the girl that other girls are jealous of at the pool. I am going to be confident wearing anything i want. I am going to be strong. I am going to fight til the end. So here it goes. The final goodbye to the cycle. I'm breaking it and breaking out into a new me. A healthier me. A faster runner me. A stronger me. A happier me.

Random thought.

So pretty people like to be friends with ugly people because it makes them look even more pretty. Ugly people also want to be friends with uglier people so they don't look as ugly. And so on and so forth. This thought brought me to the conclusion....UGLY PEOPLE ARE POPULAR!

Summer.

The definition of summer is a very complicated thing. To some it may mean freedom. To others it could just be that it gets hot outside. To a high school student summer could mean: getting a summer job, playing at the pool, having a summer fling, getting tan, bare feet, and vacations. But like all good things, they must come to an end. This is proving true. The new clothes shopping. Paying for books, figuring which classes you have, trying to figure out where time goes. Although a new school year is exciting, it also means that summer is about to end. So take those final summer trips to the lake, the final kisses under the moon, and keep those shoes off as long as possible, because summers coming to an end....and fast.

Dear Megan...

Hey this is Helena!! Bahahahahaha!! I hacked yo blog, sucka! I got on the computer and it was logged in, sorry. But since I'm in your blog, imma write you a letter. =)

Dear You.

I love that you know what I'm thinking when I don't even know what I'm talking about. We always seem to agree even when we don't. (Confusing, right? =) We are spontaneous, creative, boring girls who both love and hate boys at the same time. Rodeos and dancing are kind of our thing along with hammocks and babies and playing. Plus about a hundred thousand inside jokes. Some jokes come and go, some stay for months, but they're stupid and make us laugh and I love it. I look up to you so much. I really don't think you know how much. Your relationship with your brothers and sisters (Zach), the way you are with kids, the way you act around guys...don't laugh. Honestly. I'm jealous of your sense of humor, your hottie mchotness (Don't deny it. It's a Hammock Truth), again, the way you act around guys, and how you make sweatpants awesome. Also your uniform. =) I'm sorry I flirt with Zach. But honestly, how am i supposed to NOT? =) I love that I can vent to you about EVERYTHING. From mom problems, to boy problems to problems about myself. You know more about me than most people and you are someone that I trust with that. I've told you soooo much about my life, but there's still some things that I would like to tell you and talk about in the future, but our 17th summer isn't the time for that. For us, going out on a Friday night means putting on heels, lip gloss and heading to Wal*Mart. =D And I love it. Occasionally we might go to the mall...if we're feeling really ambitious. Hahaha! Country music is our genre and summer with the windows down is the best time to play it.

I don't really remember when we officially became best friends, but whenever it was...thank God. Honestly. Remind me sometime to tell you about the time you saved my life. 10th grade. Literally SAVED MY LIFE. Thank you. I can't tell you how grateful I am for your friendship, stories, sharing, venting, listening, playing, arguing, and loving. You really are the best friend I've ever had and I am grateful that God gave me you during high school. Looking back, I needed you in high school and (Ahhh! =) college more than anywhere else in my life. Sounds cheesy but, yeah.

I LOVE YOU TO FARKING BITS AND PIECES, GIRLY!!! Hahaha! Sorry I commandeered your blog for a day. ;D

-Helena

A fresh start.

Concluding the awfulness of third term has come to an end. The atrocity of the long winter months have finally seceded and it's a beginning of a new term. Fresh off the print. A place to start with not an F in sight. A place to try new goals, to actually go to school. The smell of spring is coming upon us accompanied by the scent of success. It's a chance to get those grades I want my parents to be proud of. It's the freedom you get when your parents think your responsible. It's a fresh start.

popularity.

Popularity. it's when you can't walk ten steps without someone coming up and talking to you. It's when everyone asks you about your weekend. It's when you eat lunch with people you don't even know. It's when you always have something to do on the weekends. Friendship. It's when you walk every ten steps with someone. It's when someone actually cares about how your weekend was. It's when you never eat lunch alone. It's when you have no idea what your going to do until you do it.... So which is more important?

Money.

Money is a necessity when it comes to the daily life of a teenage girl. I mean there are shoes to buy and boys to impress. To pay for these needs, we turn to jobs. But what happens to the girls who can't get them. Do they starve themselves from the acceptance of the crowd. Money brings freedom and with freedom comes responsibility. Do we "drop" a hundred dollars on the designer jeans? Or do we pay for those shoes that everyone has? Money gives a sense of control. The control to go out and get a shake and fries with your friends. The control to not make the decision on which flavor of gum you want, but buying both flavors. It's the pleasure of swiping your card, or giving a twenty dollar bill to the cashier and feeling powerful. But what are we left with at the end of the month. A stupid bank statement saying we are " broke". We spent all the birthday money, the lawn mowing money, the babysitting money, and what do we have to show for it. A couple lousy receipts tucked away in the bottom of our wallets? No. We have memories. We have the memories of when "josh" got that french fry stuck up his nose. Or all those early morning hot chocolate runs. We make memories and that's more important to me then a couple extra digits in my checking account.

FUTURE

when we think of the future we think of college, marriage, kids, and getting older. But do we think of the little things along the way that really make the future something to look forward to. Do we think about all the hard times we will have, the ones that we don't think we would get through. Its the moments in college when we literally think that we might starve. When we are so tired you think that your eyelids will literally fall off if you don't get some sleep. Those are the moments you want to forget, but they are also the moments that you always want to remember. The moments that I look forward to each and every day, but we can't forget the time we are living in now. Or we may just miss the moments that are happening right now. Look to the Future, Remember the past, but most of all TREASURE the present.

True love.

Ever since we were just little girls we have been shown true love. Ever since Sleeping Beauty woke up from loves first kiss, we have been taught there is someone out there just for us. Fate. Destiny. Is it fact or fiction. I believe that there is one person that you are meant to be with. The one person who is just like you and the opposite of you. The one person that you can be yourself with and they can be themselves. The one person that makes life bearable, possible, wonderful. The one person that you love. Love takes us on a journey. The hearts we may break and the ones that break our hearts are just the mile markers on life's journey. True love may not be easy to find, but finding it, is what makes it worthwhile.

Failure

"Failure is an event, never a person" -William D. Brown. This poster inspired me as I epically failed my physics final. Sitting at my computer staring at the oh so horrible score. It was depressing. I looked up and saw this quote. I think about all the times I have failed in life... such as this quarter in school.... and realized that those moments haven't defined the kind of person I am. I consider myself not a failure but a success. Its cheesy yes, but its true. Don't let those moments in life where you think its never gonna end, get you down. Because in reality, what are we going to remember twenty years from now? A "C" in Physics or the crazy friends we had and the crazy things we did. We will remember the moments not the scores. So... embrace the disappointment, love the lectures, because we all mess up once in a while.

Facebook

Facebook. Like everything else, has its ups and downs. First it has an upside of finding friends you haven't seen forever and reconnecting with them, no matter where in the world they are. Downside, people can find you. SECURITY! how much is really safe? Sure there are security settings and only your friends can read what you post.... but is it really only your friends. FACEBOOK STALKING... lets be honest we all do it. Cute kid in your math class.. consider him stalked. Although some may think it's a form of flattery, others think its a privacy invasion. If your gonna put it up there don't expect to keep it personal. Facebook is also just another form of communication in which you don't have to be face to face with someone... i think that eventually humans will be born with the inability to talk... but our thumbs and fingers will be in great shape! Facebook..... addicting. I absolutly love facebook, not gonna lie, i spend at least four hours a week on facebook, whether that be checking notifications, chatting, or posting, its four hours a week i could be working on getting better grades or getting in better shape. But yet its conforting... until johnny or mike changes his relationship status to "in a relationship". boom... consider his new girlfriend stalked. Facebook... a popularity contest... how many friends do you have? how many of those friends do you really know? Facebook.... A way to show the world how cute your hair looks today.... a way to tell the world how you are feeling.... a way to share pictures.... a way to meet new people. Facebook. Consider yourself stalked.

From day to day

basically the only thing that keeps me going day to day without ripping every strand of hair off my head would be my best friend. She is the greatest thing in the world. literally. without her i have no idea what i would do. i'd be in a heap of trouble. She listens to all the stories of boys, past present and future. She feels my pain when they are being the jack a's they are. She feels the love when they said that super cute thing that made your heart skip and your stomach drop. She listens to me when I'm happy and sad and everything in between. A true friend is not only someone who can listen but someone who can understand you and have empathy. I just hope that I can be the kind of friend to her that she is to me. I freaking love her to death!
